Team Profile: Aidan Mattis
Owner/Lead Designer
FreshStart Web Design
Tired of selling knives and working in coffee shops, an 18 year old Aidan Mattis saw an opportunity to revamp the websites of small businesses in his home town. He organized his available resources and prepared to start a business doing just that with a friend, but he ultimately failed to get the business off the ground. Two years later, Aidan came back to the idea with a little help from dear old dad. With help, he designed the website for his mother's florist business first, and then got to work building the page you're reading right now. The younger Mattis now works with small businesses in both suburban Philadelphia and State College to develop their web presence and drive business.
Student
Pennsylvania State University
More than just an educational experience, Aidan's position as a student at a major Public Research University which just happens to be known for its sports programs gives him a valuable experience you won't find with most consultants. The founder of multiple student organizations, Aidan has experience interacting University administrators from the student perspective. On the technical side, Aidan's studies have focused on communications, writing, and economics; while not a Jack of All Trades, he is a Jack of Several Relevant Trades when it comes to the world of Esports Consulting. Most importantly, he knows how to present an idea to administrators, and how to make them see the benefits of a small investment in an eSports program.
Key Sales Rep
Vector Marketing
After leaving the the coffee industry, Aidan took a summer job with the marketing arm of Cutco, a high end cutlery company. Despite the reputation of Vector as a pyramid scheme and a scam, Aidan developed his skills in sales and communication, and was quickly promoted above the average representative.
Barista/Shift Supervisor
Pour Richard's Coffee Co. | The Gryphon Cafe | The Cafe at Valley Forge Flowers
Aidan worked as a barista in high school, remaining employed at Pour Richard's from May of 2014 through June of 2016, with a brief stint at The Gryphon in 2016. He then took a job training staff and supervising cafe shifts with Valley Forge Flowers in 2017, quickly becoming the first lieutenant of the Cafe's manager. Mattis organized shift duties for employees, trained other staff on POS, Cafe equipment, and the espresso bar, and also worked shifts in shipping, delivery, and customer service. He left to return to school, and has since started his own business.
